WTF Is Up With Graffiti?

509 worn, stone, spiral stairs. That is what we climbed up on that chilly spring day in 2005. Cologne, Germany was an unplanned stop between Amsterdam and Munich. We had read about the cathedral in a guide book and it seemed intriguing; a cathedral that took over 600 years to build, one of the largest in the world, it was something we had to see. I would find it hard to believe that anyone could stand before the Cologne Cathedral and not be affected by it. The shear size of it is beyond description. I am not a religious person, but read more…

WTF… Should I Sleep With One Eye Open?

Photo 93

I had prepared another WTF Wednesday post but clearly, this takes priority. I just walked into the living room to find this beautiful piece of art work courtesy of my 2 (almost 3 year old). I said “Oskar, I love the picture you drew”. I admit it, I feel irrationally proud of his ability to draw weird and random faces; I try to tell myself he is artistic like his father and grandmother. WTF Happened to Halloween?

This may be a short WTF Wednesday today. I have things going on, things that require positive energy. This will be a surface WTF, you know, something that has annoyed me but not that much. Last night I was sitting on the couch doing my usual, half watching TV and half reading and writing on my laptop. I have a busy mind, I usually need to be doing two things at once to feel relaxed (no lie, I am seriously like that). My brother popped by, he was upset, he had just hit a raccoon while driving. Not a fun read more…

Ancient Foods For a Modern Mom

People are always asking me what I fed my little guy when he was younger. Specifically, they often want to know what I fed him when he had a few or no teeth. Let me tell you, it was a challenge because I had a kid who was over a year old, eating veraciously and 35 pounds before he got one tooth. What can I say, he was freak. Pureed foods were not sustaining that child, needless to say, I had to be creative about what I fed him. It was important to me that he was getting good food; read more…
