Happy HST DAY!!

Yay for HST!!

Aren’t you excited about the HST?? I know I am. I mean just think about it, we will no longer have to bear the burden of the antiquated taxation methods of the past. We are moving into the future and scrapping the separate PST and GST and replacing it with the aptly named Harmonized Sales Tax. Doesn’t that have a nice ring… harmonized. The name alone brings more peace and serenity into my life.  The HST is easier for big business and I know that whatever is good for big business is good for me! It’s like the Olympics, they read more…

WTF… It’s Not a Pregnancy Glow, It’s Over Active Pores!

2nd Pregnancy 'Octo Mom' Me

Since the day I found out I was pregnant again, I have had this itch on my back. I’m not speaking figuratively here people, I literally have this non-stop itch on my upper back, it never goes away. It drives me insane and I am always hounding my husband to itch it for me because I can never quite reach it. I can not explain the reason for the itch; I use the same laundry soap, shampoo and soap. Happy Father’s Day

Happy Father's Day

I’m pretty organized and I’ll admit it, I like to rub it in my husband’s face that I am always more prepared then he is for special occasions. This Wasn’t in the Parenting Manual??

The World's Religions

Sometimes as a parent, things sneak up on you. I try to stay on the ball, to be prepared for the next thing that might be coming down the pipe but sometimes I get caught by surprise. But never in my few short years as a parent have I been more surprised than I was the other day when my 3.5 year-old came to me shortly before dinner and asked me who God was. I was totally shocked. Of all the things I was expecting to tackle with my older child this year, a theological conversation was not one of read more…

The Music We Roll To

An Example of What Not to Play

Let’s be honest, a lot of kids music can be really terrible. Like get me out of this Mini-Pops hell terrible. You remember the Mini-Pops right? The group of young children that were placed in front of a camera with too much make-up on and told to sing their little hearts out to 80s Pop music. Luckily, my own mother had some standards when it came to the music we were exposed to and I never (thank god) owned my own Mini-Pops record. However, I was exposed to them as my step-brother and step-sister had a Mini-Pops tape which makes read more…
