Xmas Card Advice
Ok so I know it is cheesy, but I like to do photo cards for Christmas. I started doing it after we had our first baby and now it has become a bit of a tradition. I am sure some people might love it and some people might hate it but whatever, I still like doing it. The first year I did it I ordered a super expensive Xmas card off of Tiny Prints. It is a great site and their cards are super cute and high quality but they are also really expensive and frankly, with three kids, I read more…
Hooky, Pooh & Chinese Food
My day started with a less than convincing case from my 4yo as to why he should stay home from school today because he wasn’t feeling well. The evidence was flimsy at best. He insisted his stomach was upset and he had a fever. Normally this would have been cause for concern, but a quick check of his temperature revealed he did not have a fever and the fact that he immediately asked when breakfast was, told me that his stomach was likely feeling fine. He’s intuitive and could easily read the skepticism all over my face so he attempted read more…
The 7 Year Itch?
This weekend I celebrated my 7th anniversary with my husband and it had me thinking about that 7 year itch and I figured it might be fun to interview my hubby and ask him about that itch among other things. So here it goes… Me: Hi, I’m the Modish Mama. You might remember from such smash hits like: The Birth of Your First Child, The Birth of Your Second Child or The Birth of Your Third Child. Hubby: *Blank Stare, zero recognition* Me: Ummmm. *face going red * Well you know how you sleep on the right-hand side of the read more…
Jinx

I knew right away I had totally jinxed myself. It isn’t that it’s not true because it is. I seriously have the best life anyone could ever ask for but, writing that down might have been like saying: hey universe I’m happy over here maybe you should come and fuck everything up just because you can! I am sure it is not just read more…
A Letter to a Stranger: Nathan Kotylak
To Nathan Kotylak, You don’t know me Nathan. We have never met and likely will never meet, but due to recent events, I know a good deal about you. I know that you come from what would be considered a good family; you attend a prestigious school, your father is a doctor and you live in a nice home. You are an athlete with future Olympic goals and unfortunately, after last Wednesday night, you are also a rioter. I saw the picture of you trying to set fire to a police car on a blog dedicated to Public Shaming and read more…
