Happy HST DAY!!

Yay for HST!!

Aren’t you excited about the HST?? I know I am. I mean just think about it, we will no longer have to bear the burden of the antiquated taxation methods of the past. We are moving into the future and scrapping the separate PST and GST and replacing it with the aptly named Harmonized Sales Tax.

Doesn’t that have a nice ring… harmonized. The name alone brings more peace and serenity into my life.  The HST is easier for big business and I know that whatever is good for big business is good for me! It’s like the Olympics, they were great for big business and I know I really enjoyed them.

I mean, I couldn’t afford to actually participate in any of the Olympic festivities, it was a bit out of our price range seeing as we are a family of 4 (soon to be 5). But we felt the excitement from across the Georgia Straight and that excitement, paired with the boost I received from Gordon Campbell’s smarmy, smiley face all over TV, made me feel like I could do anything!!

Like I now know I can help pay off the Olympic debt… I believe in the magic of you and I people. It might take us until well past retirement age, it may feel like a huge burden, our children’s education may suffer due to the slashing of School Board budgets, people with chronic pain issues may off themselves while waiting years for surgeries that were deemed non-medically urgent but hey, buck up chaps, think of the memories and the legacy we created with the 2010 Olympic Winter Games in Vancouver!!

And remember, the HST is going to help pay down that Olympic debt. Just think, all those things you like to go out and do as a family will now be taxed double. Like the one trip a month you take to McDonald’s, it will now be double taxed and you can rest easy knowing you are doing that much more to pay down that mammoth Olympic debt! And the one movie your family can afford to go to each year, that will also be taxed double! And the extra camps you have to put your kids in because the schools are now closed for an extra long spring break so they can make up the school board budget deficit, those will also be taxed double… that’s a good one, the Olympic legacy is literally screwing you up the ass twice there.

Some other fun stuff that will now be taxed double:

Most School Supplies (kids don’t need stuff to learn good anyway).

Adult Sized Kids Clothing (it’s fair, your big kids breath more air anyways!).

Shoe Repair (why repair anyways, just chuck that sh*t out!).

Used Adult Clothing (again why buy used anyway? Reduce, Reuse, Recycle is for pansies).

Basic Cable (cheap, commercial laden entertainment was never a right people!).

Local Residential Phones (get a cell phone already and talk on it all the time… brain cancer is good people!).

Landscaping & Home Cleaning (if you can afford that sh*t you deserve to get taxed anyway right).

Camping (come on, how long did you think they would let you have a cheap vacation for… seriously).

Domestic air, bus and train (again, if you can afford to fly, you must be rich).

Real Estate Commissions & New Homes (isn’t your freakin cardboard box comfy enough??).

Massage Therapy, Over-the-Counter Medications, Vitamins (f*ck health, you are already going to be on your cell phone all the time).

Admission to sporting events (that just makes sense… the Canucks did suck last season non?).

Safety Helmets for Sports (who needs em, head injuries are soooo not a big deal).

Dance lessons, karate lessons or any type of physical activity lessons (f*ck… the obesity epidemic is totally being over exaggerated anyways!).

Admission to museums, art galleries, live theatre and music concerts (kids do not need to be cultured… Baby Einstein can help with that sh*t).

Funeral Services (bury them in the backyard already).

Veterinary Services (just put them to sleep instead, who needs pets anyways).

So overall I am really excited about the HST. I love Gordon Campbell. I love him so much that sometimes I imagine him standing there with his smarmy, little smile telling me he is my real father just like Darth Vader did to Luke.

Do you love the HST too?? Please do share the love in the comments section!

Yes yes yes I am so excited for Thurs. It will really help the economy and better British Colombians. I’m not understanding why people would sign the petition, especially in record numbers. IT IS GOING TO HELP US PEOPLE. At least that is what we are told.

But Kim, we all make hundreds of thousands of dollars a year and we have a low cost of living right? We all have a lot of extra money kicking around after we buy close to million dollar homes, we might as well give it to the government! F*ck.

I wouldn’t mind paying high taxes if it was reflected in the services I was getting but I didn’t want the Olympics and don’t think there is any reason a sporting event should cost billions of dollars!
