Smell Like Summer

Am I the only one that thought last weeks warmth indicated summer might actually be on the way? Perhaps that is why this weeks freezing cold feels like a bitch slap right across the face.

I am so moody this week which I know is partly PMS related (did I ever tell you I never had PMS until after having my third child, that’s a whole other post) but mostly, I blame my snarkiness on the dreary weather.

I want the sun!

I want the sun even though I am still 27 pounds over my pre-pregnancy weight and feel like crap in any and all forms of summer clothing (now that is despertion).

So, today in my slightly depressed, sun deprived state,  I went out to run some errands and hit up a few stores that I normally don’t allow myself to enter – staying on budget for me means no entering many stores like Sephora, all shoe stores, Winners, Homesense, Artizia, all of Lower Johnson, The Bay and any drug stores or health food stores – and I stumbled upon something that made my day so much better.

Have you ever heard of Pacifica? They are a company that makes fragrance products that are not tested on animals, free of phthalates, parabens, sulfates, propylene glycol, benzene, GMOs, mineral oil, peanut oil, and triclosan (and other ingredients you do not want).

I am sure many of you already know this but, the fragrance industry is a dirty, chemical laden business that is probably really unhealthy for all of us. That is why I use natural deodorant and don’t use actual perfume more than a few times a year (I only do that as I have 2 bottles of expensive perfume that my husband bought me years ago and I haven’t had the heart to throw them away).

But Pacifica perfume can be worn without guilt and the best part is it is totally not expensive! I wanted to buy a few scents today but I stopped myself and only bought the handy roll-on bottle of the Brazilian Mango Grapefruit. Yummmm it smells so good. I can’t stop sniffing my wrists and thinking of summer.

That’s why I wrote this post, so I can sniff my wrists freely without you all thinking I am a freak… oh yeah and also because you should go and get yourself some. I have the Blood Orange scent and love that one as well. At a price point of $8-$21 depending on if you get the solid, roll-on or spray bottle variety how can you resist!

Ok ladies, get shopping and wrist sniffing. BTW If you live in Victoria, Planet Organic has all the Pacifica scents along with loads of other hard to resist natural beauty products.

PS – This is an unpaid endorsement and is true, from my heart (and nose) pretty thing pimpage!

Thank goodness the sun came out this afternoon. I felt the summer had come and gone already. So frustrating!!

That line of products really is amazing! I used to use the Blood Orange, but lost track of it years ago. One of the many things I gave up when O came along. Thatmango Grapefruit sounds amazing though! Honestly, they are all great. I’d only seen them in that soap shop in Chemanius. I’ll have to check them out in Victoria…. if I ever get more than two seconds to myself!

I love that soap shop in Chemanius! You will have to stop by Planet Organic! We could make a playdate for Beckwith park so you have no excuse!

I’m guessing I would be either french lilac, mediterranean fig or blood orange. I’m weird about perfume too. One of my best friends can’t function without it and I can pick out her scents in a heartbeat if anyone else has them on, “Tina??”, and I start looking around for her wondering why she didn’t tell me she flew in from London.

    Thanks for the tip!

I have to secretly admit that I always envied the people that have the signature scent that they always wear. I am too fickle and could never commit to one scent for a long period of time. The Fig smells really good too! I almost ad to get the vanilla as well.
